Introduction to Sewing Course


Want to learn to sew but don’t know where to start? Then this is the course for you. Over six sessions Karen will give you the confidence to understand the basic sewing skills to work on lots of projects for yourself and your home, Session run on Thursday evenings.

This is a complete beginner course so no experience is needed.

Thursday Evenings (6 session course, dates are set, they cannot be moved or refunded)
Time: 6 – 8pm

Beginning with how to use a sewing machine, understand threading, tensions, and needles.  You will learn some valuable basic sewing skills including hemming, stitching and neatening seams.

You will make your own samples to take home for future reference. Tutor Karen will help you understand the different types of fabrics, interfacing and sewing tools.

You can choose to make one of the following items using a basic easy commercial Pattern.  A simple cushion, An apron, or a very simple Tote bag.

Each session will start at 6pm and finish at 8pm.

This Course consists of 6 sessions.

To ensure individual attention, a maximum of six places will be available.

Refreshments will be provided.
